The Three Declensions—Definition of Stem The declensions of Nouns and Adjectives fall under three distinct sets of forms, which are seen in the Nouns of the First, Second, and Third Declensions. Pronouns, with which we must, of course, class the Definite Article, have, to a large extent, forms of their own, but in many respects follow the Nouns.
